Overview of Day One
On 23rd May 2023, the day one of the 8th edition of Sports Betting West Africa, SBWA, a yearly iGaming conference, witnessed a blast as Lagos hosted the gathering of prominent iGaming industry pioneers, leaders, experts, and enthusiasts from across the globe.
The first day of the exciting three-day SBWA aims to unite the community for networking. The iGaming community—operators, regulators, investors, punters, and other stakeholders—convened at Federal Palace Hotels and Casinos, Lagos, Nigeria, to exchange ideas, collaborate, and connect with potential investors.
Present at the conference are industry experts like Daniel Bernard, Founder of Kick Off/Investor at Mindspring Capital; DK Micheal Aghaji, Head of Sales, E2 Communications; Khoren Kalashyan, Business Development Executive, FeedConstruct; Emily Asava, Sales Manager, TVBET; Olanrewaju Samuel, Gaming Consult/Business Developer, Logifuture; and Oyindamola Michael’s, Country Manager, Kaizen Gaming; Fisayo Oke, CEO, Gamble Alert; Maha Otu, Director, Betwinner NG; Yudi Soetjiptadi, Founder & CEO Eventus International, to mention but few of the prominent figures that graced the event.
DK Micheal Aghaji of E2 Communications led the congregation through media and publishing, revealing fascinating insights about the iGaming industry’s future in Africa.
Daniel Bernard, Founder of Kick Off/ Investor at Mindspring Capital, delved into the future of retail betting in Africa, exposing how innovation can bring a better and more profitable operation.
Pietro Otto, General Manager of Gaming Laboratories International, spoke from the regulatory point of view.
Fisayo Oke spoke on another technological approach that can be used to regulate irresponsible Gaming.
“Gaming companies can incorporate softwares that restricts undue access to their sites”.
Adefisoye Stephen, Head of Customer Experience – Sportech Media Entertainment, amazed the people with his insight into the fast-rising prospect of the iGaming industry in the African gaming market.
The Lagos State Lottering and Gaming Authority, LSLGA, also enriched the event with its presence. Adetoun Adeyemi—Board Secretary/Head of Legal— spoke about the need for proper registration and obtaining approval from gaming authorities in the respective countries of the operators.
