When it comes to mobile gaming, Pubg Mobile is one of the most popular titles. The Pro League (PMPL) and Mobile Club Open are two esports franchises under the Pubg brand (PMCO). The PMPL and PMCO allow players worldwide to meet and compete on an annual basis.
The PUBG Corporation is entering 2022 with a series of improvements to its top leagues, following a successful 2021 that saw a record number of spectators for PUBG MOBILE.
The first modification is related to the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL). The premier PUBG Mobile league will adopt a new model, with a one-year cycle replacing the current seasonal relegation system.
Certain regions, such as EMEA and MENA & SA, will witness changes to the PMPL. Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa will henceforth be classified as separate regions. Lastly, PUBG Mobile will introduce two new regions to the PMPL: PMPL Africa and PMPL Pakistan.
The addition of Africa as an area for the PMPL is one major change. Previously, gamers in the region had to be divided into the Middle East (MENA) and South Africa (SA).
Only African countries will compete in regional qualifications, creating a fair playing field due to connectivity and other reasons.
