On Thursday, 888 Holdings disclosed that it had started the 888bet brand in African countries through the 888Africa joint venture. The 888Africa, joint venture idea was conceived in March with the goal of operating 888 in the iGaming and sports betting sector across Africa’s regulated countries. As a result, players in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Mozambique will have access to both online casino titles and mobile sports betting through 888Casino.
Itai Pazner, the chief executive, stated, “Africa has notable potential; we hope to see 888Africa progress in offers to our players in the coming days by launching new products.” He also mentioned that they hope to launch in other licensed markets as 888 foresees that the African gambling market will reach S5.6 billion in 2030.
Christopher Coyne, the head of the 888Africa executive team, stated that:
“The team focuses on user experience and covers 85% of its markets’ mobile network operator “payments.” ‘888 brand has massive goals to reach in Africa.’.
In August, the reputable online gaming company reported the 2022 first-half results, which saw revenues 13% drop to GBP 332.1 million ($402 million) compared to 2021. This outcome resulted from the newly implemented safer gambling policies in the United Kingdom, and 888’s closure from the Dutch market caused this. However, excluding these two markets, profits increased by 2%.
